International Airports Outside of Dublin

Ireland has 5 International Airports:

  • Dublin Airport– North of Dublin City on the east coast
  • Cork Airport– Just south of Cork City on the south coast
  • Shannon Airport– North of Limerick City on the west coast
  • Knock Airport(Ireland West Airport Knock) – in County Mayo in the North West
  • Belfast Airport– west of Belfast City in the North East.

SHANNON INTERNATIONAL  AIRPORT SNN– EINN

Shannon Airport is an international airport in the West of Ireland located in County Clare in the Republic of Ireland. It is adjacent to the Shannon Estuary and lies halfway between Ennis and Limerick. The airport is the third busiest airport in Ireland.

When Flying in or Out of Shannon Airport an FBO is required to transfer from Executive’s Helicopter to the Terminal.  Executive Helicopters partners with FBO’s Universal or Signature flight support.  Where flying in by private Jet will co-ordinate with FBO of choice.

Shannon Airport is a well laid out and the transfer between Helicopter and terminal (approx 3-5 minutes) is done with minimal disruption for the passenger. While as an International Airport it is not possible to go direct from plane/jet to helicopter passengers must reinter security to re-board the process is simple and direct with minimum disruption.  FBO’s also provide lounges for passengers where required and co-ordinate with drivers with regard to luggage.  Shannon Airport provides short and long term car parks, all within walking distance of the terminal.

When flying in or out of the Airport, Executive Helicopter’s Operations team will require Passenger details, ie Names and connecting flight Number and time of arrival departure details (or in case of Private Jet Tail reg).

 

Ireland West International Airport – (Knock Airport) NOC – EIKN

Ireland West Airport, officially known as Ireland West Airport Knock, is an international airport 5.6 km south-west of Charlestown, County Mayo, Ireland. The village of Knock is 20 km away. 750,000 passengers used the airport in 2017.  Similar to Shannon Airport in that that it is an international airport process and direct transfer is not possible, how ever the procedure is done with minimum disruption for the passenger.

When flying in or out of the Airport, Executive Helicopter’s Operations team will require Passenger details, ie Names and connecting flight Number and time of arrival departure details (or in case of Private Jet Tail reg).

 

CORK AIRPORT-EICK

Cork Airport is the second-largest of the three principal international airports in the Republic of Ireland, after Dublin and ahead of Shannon. It is located 6.5 km south of Cork city centre in an area known as Farmers Cross.  An FBO is required Executive Helicopters partners with Weston Aviation, which provides Apron Transfers Customs Pre-Clearance VIP Lounge Onward Road Transportation Complimentary WiFi Executive Catering Rental Cars Aircraft & Helicopter Charter Concierge Service’s.

 

BELFAST INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT EGAA &

GERORGE BEST BELFAST CITY AIRPORT EGAC

 

Belfast International Airport is an airport 11.5 NM northwest of Belfast in Northern Ireland. Formerly known as Aldergrove Airport.  Flys to over 70 destinations. Belfast International Airport is approximately  20miles ie 30 minute drive and as an international airport is busy with high traffic.

George Best Belfast City Airport is a single-runway airport in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Situated in County Down, it is adjacent to the Port of Belfast and is 3 mi from Belfast City Centre. It shares the site with the Short Brothers/Bombardier aircraft manufacturing facility

Tip:  If not arriving or departing on an international flight, ie If the purpose of the flight is to visit Belfast A more convenient option is George Best City Airport which is just 3.8miles (9minute drive to the Titanic Museum etc.

FBO’s Are required at both Airports.

PNSI clearance will be required for both airports, Valid Passport details must be submitted to Executive helicopters at 24hours in advance to ensure clearance.  Remember to carry your passport on you.

Taxi Services, Car parking facilities are easily available at both locations.

 

KERRY AIRPORT – EIKY

 

Kerry Airport, Irish: Aerfort Chiarraí, IATA: KIR, ICAO: EIKY, often called Farranfore Airport, is a regional airport in Farranfore, County Kerry, Ireland. It is 7 nautical miles north of and the Ring of Kerry, and 8 nautical miles south-east of the county’s capital Tralee.  Kerry Airport caters for International flights with Direct flights to  Direct flights to Dublin, London, Frankfurt, Berlin, Faro, Alicante with connections to worldwide destinations

 

 

SLIGO REGIONAL AIRPORT EISO

Sligo Airport is located in Strandhill, County Sligo, 5 NM west of Sligo, at the end of the R277 road, in Ireland. The airport is a small regional airport mainly used for Air search and Rescue, has no scheduled routes.  For Domestic flights it is possible to board/depart the helicopter directly.  Carpark & Taxi’s Services available.  When flying in or out of the Airport, Executive’s Operations team will require Passenger name details.

 

BIRR & ABBEYSHRULE AERODROME AIRFIELDS EIBR & EIAB

  • Birr Airfield is located 1 NM south of the town of Birr in County Offaly in Ireland. It was originally called Birr View Air Strip.
  • Abbeyshrule Aerodrome is a small private airport located in south-east County Longford, Ireland, near the village of Abbeyshrule, 12 NM west north-west of Mullingar and beside the River Inny and the Royal Canal. Located in the centre of Ireland, the aerodrome is situated in uncontrolled airspace and is clear of restricted areas.

Both Aerodromes require PPR

DONEGAL AIRPORT  EIDL

Donegal Airport is located 2 NM south-west of Bunbeg in Carrickfinn, a townland in The Rosses, a district in north-west County Donegal, Ireland. The airport is on the county’s north-west coast. about a 15-minute drive from Dungloe and Gweedore and 45 minutes from Letterkenny.  Flights operate twice daily all year round from Donegal to Dublin Airport, with a schedule of up to 5 times weekly from Donegal to Glasgow International Airport

 

WATERFORD AIRPORT   EIWF

Waterford Airport is located in Killowen, 4 NM southeast of Waterford. It serves southeastern Ireland. The airport is operated by Waterford Regional Airport plc. Currently no commercial flights operate in Waterford but development plans are in Place.  Waterford Airport is a convenient friendly airport for private charter.
